Bearing of major axis

Posted by Matthew Rosser at July 29. 2010
Hello Nick
I have two questions
1. Is the "Bearing of major axis" (Layout Tab) calculated automatically by OpenWind or is it a manual operation?
2. When you highlight the WindMap Layer and select the information switch does the handy wind rose shown refer to the power density rose or the frequency rose?
Again many thanks for the software and the advice. OpenWind is a fantastic program you’re a top bloke.
regards
Matt

Thanks Matt,

The bearing of the major axis is something you need to input. The 135 value is just put there by me at random as I needed to put something in there and I don't see that zero is necessarily a better number than 135.

It is a frequency rose. I can already anticipate your next question but I am going to let you ask it anyway.

Thanks Nick
And going through the motions ... can we the user change the handy pointer to be the power density rose?
warm regards

Hi Matt,

Not all the WRG types have power density information and so this is why I chose to limit the cursor to a frequency rose.  Your request is noted though.
