Getting along with the site boundary layer in the tutorials

Posted by Charles Ampong at August 21. 2010

Hello,

I am new to OpenWind. I want to use this program for my graduate final project to assess wind power development in Ohio.

I have been following the tutorial up to the point where I have to optimize the operation so that the turbines fall within the boundary area.

My problem is I keep receiving an error message saying it is not possible to create a legal layout for my configuration (1) First Site, 0.

My question is what does this mean because I have following the same as in the tutorial. Has this got to do with the fact that when I created the New layer (first site) and the site boundary layer, both have no attributes values in the properties tab???

Infact I cannot visualize the boundary layer in the map area even after creating it.

Any help?????

Hi Charles,

Please check everything and try again. I just worked through the first part of the tutorial and it all works fine. This is a demo that I have done hundreds of times.

Nick
