Energy Report

It would be nice to have a feature in the Power [kW] Energy Capture Report that summarizes the entire farm as well as providing turbine-specific results.

Hi Michael,

I believe that the energy capture reports do provide a summary of the entire farm and provide turbine-specific results.

The first few lines of the report provide a summary of the site. Then, if you scroll down a few rows, you'll see a header that says, "Site Name", "Index", "Label", etc. That section is the area with turbine specific results. If you scroll to the right in that section, you'll see mean free wind speed, gross yield, net yield, capacity factor, etc. for each turbine.

Adam Hanna

I was thinking more along the lines of creating a 'wind farm power curve' from the Power [kW] report.  Right now, if I want to do it I have to manually select the top-left corner of each turbine and add them all together.  I'd like to have a single table that does this calculation for me (kind of like a PARK report in WindPRO).

Hi Michael,

I am not sure what this is or what it would be used for. Wake losses and TI losses can increase as wind speed increases and so I am not sure that it is possible or desirable to create a "wind-farm power curve". If you tell me what you use it for, perhaps I can suggest a better way to get there.

Maybe "wind-farm power curve" can be used to predict houly power output of the entire farm as required by some grid companies.

Ah, I am in the process of adding time-series energy capture to openWind. I will make an announcement when it is in.
