Shadow Flicker Analysis

It would be nice to have Shadow Flicker Calculation as a feature in openWind.

This would complete whole Visual Impact Study using openWind.

I am planning to add Shadow Flicker. However, to begin with, it will only be available in the proprietary version of openWind. I'm afraid we need to start seeing a return from openWind and so my focus just now is on trying to sell a Pro version.

We will be continuing to update the free open-source version though.

i work in micro generation, but i'm being pulled into bigger stuff, shadow flicker software and lessons on how to use it would be very nice.. prepared to pay a good premium for this.

Shadow Flicker is available in the Enterprise version of openWind along with a bunch of handy tools for the more serious developer.

Is there anything new on the shadow flicker modelling for the open source version? I'm involved in visual impact assessments and it seems that wind farm projects are taking most of my time now, but I'm hesitant to spend too much money now on software specific to wind developments. The software I currently use cover most aspects (viewsheds, photomontage, general GIS) very well, but of course shadow flicker modelling is absent and obviously not straightforward to do in the general 3D software visualisation packages.

There are no plans to incorporate shadow flicker into the community version. It is Enterprise only I'm afraid.
