OpenWind Crash when opening an existing file
Up to Bug Reporting
Hi Nick,
I'm having some trouble when I try and open files that I created yesterday. I calculated a new windmap and optimized windturbine's postions. However, when I tryed to open the work I had been doing, it open without any apearent problem, but with the windmap layer deactivated. Whenever I try to activate it again it crashes. It always does. I've tryed with some backup copies and they always crash.
Do you think you can fix it? Or maybe, it's my problem and I should've saved the windmap layer aswell instead of just saving the whole project as a *.blb file.
Thanks Nick
Ni Nick,
We've been able to skip the bug I told you some days ago by saving anywork with the windmap layer out of the new_layout layer.
If the project is saved like that, we're able to reopen it againg. However, if we keep the windmap layer as a child of the turbine lay-out, the file corrupts itself and it's impossible to open it again without crashing openwind.
I hope it helps you to find the bug and fix it easier.
Thanks

Hey Joan,
I'm not ignoring you but I am in the middle of adding a bunch of functionality and so I can't put out another release just now.
I think it may be something to do with running an unsuccessful windmap and openWind not cleaning up properly afterwards. It is possible to save windmaps as part of a workbook. I think the bug might be caused by cancelling the calculation of a windmap. Its definitely a bug and I will fix it but it might be a few weeks before I release anything better for you.
Sorry,
Nick
