Noise calculations does not match

Noise calculations does not match

Posted by Daniel Marmander at October 19. 2009
The "actual turbine noise" reported under the environmental sensors, does not match the one that is view as a raster after a noise calculation.

Is this an actual bug, or a user issue?

Can the environmental sensor layer see all the site layers? It will only report noise from the turbines in the site layers it can see in its hierarchy.

If you want your environmental sensor layers to see all the turbines then you'll probably want to make them the root.

If its not this then pleaase let me know. I have fundamentally reworked this over the past week so therre could be a mistake.

I have tried having it as a child of the layout, and as a parent of the layout. Both cases gives the exact same values. The values are almost 5dB(A) too low compared to the noise grid that openwind calculated, and that grid matches the output from a correspronding calculation in WindPRO.

Can you send me the workbook please? When I test here it works fine and matches exactly so I cannot diagnose any further without seeing the workbook.

Please remember that the turbines and sensors need to be able to "see" the terrain you're using.
