how can you do a ZVI analysis? I imported the turbine locations and a DEM, though it seems that ZVI does not work!

Hi Costas,

It seems to work for me. What behaviour are you getting? Have you made sure your DEM is within the site layer hierarchy and that the DEM raster is marked as Terrain? Remember that in openWind a raster can represent lots of different types of information and so you need to go into Layer Properties->Interpretation and set the interpretation to terrain elevation.

Please let me know if this helps.

Nick

p.s. I have setup an anonymous FTP site for any troublesome workbooks you may have. If you want me to look at a workbook, upload it and tell me and I will take it off the FTP site and test it for you. The FTP site is upload only so even if someone else goes and browses the FTP site, they will not be able to download your data. As long as you call your BLB file something cryptic, this should preserve confidentiality (so long as you don't mind me seeing it).

ok, it worked. I did not put the proper hierarchy!

Great piece of software, got the ZVI working well after following the tutorial

One problem I have though is that each my DEM raster layers is only 20km by 20km, and I can't seem to find a way of making the ZVI plot correctly beyond the boundary of the particular DEM raster in which the turbine map is nested.

Thanks for any help!

Ok, worked it out, just needed to nest the DEM raster layers and put the tubine map in the final one.
