Vista compatibility

Posted by nick at February 27. 2008

You know, I've seen Vista and I just don't like it. If you have it perhaps you would do me the favour of testing under that OS? I realise that I'm gonna have to buy it and install it on a perfectly good PC at some point so I can test and debug under it but right now I really don't want to and I have more pressing concerns.

Please let me know what you find. I guess the more bugs there are specific to Vista the sooner I will have to cave in.

Hi Nick! I agree 100% about Vista. Also most of the changes to MS Office suck (except the ability to have >1M rows in Excel). I'll be happy to try OW on my Vista laptop when I am finally able to download the executable.

PS You should put a nice friendly picture of yourself in that space on the upper right. That silhouette is scary.

This is the least scary picture I could find  :)

Just installed it on my Vista laptop. It worked fine apart from one crash when i tried to add a new vector layer (although i couldn't recreate it). Also, not sure if it's related to Vista (as I haven't tried it on XP yet) but it's using lots of memory. Over 0.6GB at one point.
