Up to Announcements
HELLO!
I HAVE A NRG1625 TOWER DATA, I TRIED TO OPEND THE DATA BUT I CAN NOT IT, PLEASE TEACH ME HOW CAN I STAR IT..? THE SHAPE FILES ARE NOT OPENED AND I HAVE RWD FILES FOR WIND RESOURSE DATA (IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONVERT TO WRG FILES?)
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP..!
STALIN
Please do not shout. Take a deep breath. I feel your frustration but fundamentally it's going to be down to you.
You need to convert the NRG data into something like comma separated text - I imagine NRG has some software to allow you to do that. Once you have done that, open it in something like Excel or Calc (open office). Whilst in there, you probably want to carry out some QA and replacements between your primary and redundant instruments and then carry out an adjustment based on some source of long term data - probably from your local government met office. I cannot help you with this. This is procedure you need to establish for yourself. However, there are helpful links on the wikipedia page for "wind resource assessment".
If you look in this forum you will see my announcement regarding TAB files. Read it and download the free app I provide and use it to create a TAB file.
Once you have your TAB file, you can look in the FAQ on this website to get instructions for using the wind-flow model in openWind or you can buy WAsP or Meteodyn WT etc. and use one of them to make a wind-flow which can then be exported as a WRG.
Basically, Stalin, wind resource assessment is not the same as writing an email. Yes openWind is a program to allow you to do WRA but it is fundamentally a skilled job. You must be prepared to invest significant time and money to be able to get a good grasp of what needs to be done. OpenWind is not the answer, merely a tool, and not the most friendly tool for beginners. OpenWind is primarily aimed at people who already know what they are doing and require more control over the process.
However, if you're going to learn anything I recommend OpenWind of course
Seriously, read the wind resource assessment handbook linked to from the bottom of wikipedia page I mentioned and go investigate the NRG website for tools and accept that this is going to take you a bit of working through.
Good luck!
