New Version

Important update - fixes a bug which can cause small differences to energy capture output.

With the release of version 1.0 of the Enterprise Edition imminent, there is very little new functionality in the open-source. However, a bug did creep into the last version (00.08.00.0505) and so it is important to download this newer version. Please note that the validation process for the Enterprise Edition is far more rigorous than for the Community Edition. The former having to be accepted by AWS Truepower for its internal use and the latter being whatever I choose to put out there for you to test.

The open-source project is very close to being finished (although I do still intend to finish full support for WRGs with multiple hub-heights). Most of the future updates to the open-source will be bug-fixes and minor enhancements.

For those of you who are interested, the Enterprise Edition includes at least the following features:

  • Deep Array Wake Model
  • Uncertainty analysis
  • Gridded turbine arrays
  • Vector properties spreadsheet interface
  • Enhancements to the optimiser to address issues with large (1000+ turbines) or constrained layouts
  • Directional curtailment (both user-defined and automatic - can be used with optimisation)
  • Adjustment of turbine performance with inflow angle
  • Shadow flicker
  • Scripting
  • Online authentication of reports and executables
  • Crane pad checking
and we are in the process of finishing up
  • Optimisation for Cost Of Energy (OCOE)
This last item is one we believe people have been waiting for and one which I will be happy to demonstrate at the upcoming WRA conference in Oklahoma.

See you there!

Nick
