OpenWind is wind farm design software for engineers and scientists. It is open source and free to download and use.
OpenWind is an open source platform designed to empower scientists and
engineers working in the field of technical wind energy consultancy and to
provide transparency to those whose job it is to see that the industry remains
on a firm financial footing.
We invite the wind energy community to embrace this project and work with us to improve the industry as a whole.
We envisage this platform as a means by which experts working in research or academia can see their work realized in a form which can benefit the industry and the planet.
We see this project as a vehicle by which best practices in the industry can progress in step with advancements in the theory of wind farm design, turbine loading analysis and modeling.
